Mental health consultation is a problem-solving and capacity-building intervention implemented within a collaborative relationship between a professional consultant with mental health expertise and one or more individuals. I enjoy sharing my experience over the last 20 years in working in the mental health field as either a student/intern, case manager, professional counselor, director, and clinical supervisor for community service boards, crisis lines, private/group practices, nonprofit and inpatient/PHP/residential programs in the state of Georgia. - Nonprofits/For profit mental health agencies seeking help with identifying business models/organizational structure (including staffing or contracting counselors with your agency).
- Assistance for individuals seeking to begin private practice, questions related to joining individual vs group practices, insurance credentialing process.
- Mentoring supportive services for individuals considering entering to the mental health field and navigating questions on choosing programs, specialty, understanding differences amongst counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists.
- Speaking engagements on issues related to understanding depression and anxiety, postpartum/perinatal mood disorders. stress management, creating life balance, microagression in clinical and professional settings, supporting loved ones diagnosed with mental illness, and navigating local resources.
- Clinical supervision for individuals whom have graduated from a masters degree program seeking licensure from the Georgia Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists.
