I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, and certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I am also a wife and proud mother of two children. The private practice was started in February 2011 upon me receiving full licensure as a LPC during this time. Overall I've been working in the the mental health field for over 20 years in several adult and child/adolescent settings which include outpatient and private mental health facilities, state residential and inpatient care facilities. I enjoy helping my clients explore and identify their goals in life. I believe that each client is unique and treatment should be individualized; therefore I have integrated different theoretical systems of psychotherapy throughout my career. However, my theoretical orientation is more Cognitive Behavioral, and Solution Focused. I also find that the use of focused mindfulness skills can be helpful to increase self awareness. My interest include marriage/couples issues, trauma counseling for adults and active duty or veterans of our armed forces; perinatal mood disorders, individual counseling for anxiety/depression disorders, I also provide counseling for children and teens 6 years of age and older for anxiety and self esteem issues, and group counseling for adults.
